Our home group is watching an interesting movie called "What Would Jesus Buy" that questions the power of consumerism in the US. Here are a couple compelling lines:
"Americans spend less than one hour a week in spiritual activity and five shopping."
"In the US there are either private space or shopping spaces. You’re either at home or your shopping."
